"Shrinks are usually even more fraked up than thier patients" ---Kara Thrace---
This last Thursday there was an incident which occurred at the U.S. Army base of Fort Hood in Texas. A lone gunman went on a rampage killing 13 and wounding 42. The gunman was an Army psychologist named Maj.Nidal Malik Hasan. During the shooting the Major was heard by witnesses as shouting “Allah Ackhbar” which is Arabic for “God is great so I’m going to kill as many of you as I possibly can.” In the aftermath of this the mainstream news media has been working overtime trying to make this attack to seem like the result of post-traumatic stress disorder. That’s pure comedy because Maj. Hasan had not even been deployed yet. Some argue that he somehow caught PTSD as an Army shrink treating soldiers who actually have been deployed. That’s patently absurd. PTSD isn’t the swine flu. It’s not a communicable disease. He was about to be deployed and had expressed his reservations about it. However, he also expressed admiration for Muslim suicide bombers and was known for attending a Mosque where he learned from the same Imam as the guys who carried out the September 11th attacks.
There seems to be compelling reason to believe that Nidal Hasan’s rampage was religiously motivated. And by “compelling” I mean obvious. If some guy started shooting up the local post office shouting “Jesus wants you to die” the mainstream news media outlets wouldn’t think twice about reporting on the religious component motivating such an attack. However, since the shooter was a radical Muslim, they don’t dare. After all, we don’t want to piss off the population of American Muslims. There might be riots like when the Dutch newspaper publish unflattering cartoons featuring the prophet Muhammad. The “religion of peace” gets mighty violent when someone blasphemes against them.
Mostly I think the real fear for the spineless weasels in the news media lies in potentially appearing to be intolerant. Bing labeled a racist in America is like being a leper in ancient times. You suddenly become a pariah. If you work for the news media or the entertainment industry you can kiss your career goodbye if such an accusation were to gain any credence. Racism accusations have become a lot like the accusations of witchcraft that were common 400 years ago. There didn’t need to be proof. The mere insinuation was all that was needed to earn someone a toasty spot on a pile of kindling. Because of this most news reporters are failing to point out the obvious fact that Major Hasan was a disciple of the radical Muslim ideology. This was why he shot up Ft. Hood. It wasn’t because he “just snapped” at the prospect of being sent to Afghanistan. If he didn’t want to be deployed he could have easily avoided it by shooting himself in the foot or showing up on base dressed in drag like Cpl. Max Klinger. He didn’t kill and wound all those people just to avoid deployment. He did it because his religion commanded it and no amount of politically correct whitewashing is going to change that. Now that Hasan is out of his coma and talking it should be interesting to see how the news people try to put a spin on him decrying them as kufar infidels.
