Does anyone feel like a schmuck yet? If not, let’s review. President George W. Bush was consistently lambasted and criticized for his administration’s continuous deficit spending which has increased the overall trade deficit to over $10 trillion. The practices of the Bush administration have been blamed by the majority of the news media at large for the faltering economy and what we now experience as one of the worst recessions in decades.

But have no fear. Obama is here. He promised hope and change. He will lead us poor slobs out of this recession. How does he plan on doing that? It’s simple. He will do it through even more deficit spending. Any of you Obama cultists feel like idiots yet? Yessir, there’s nothing like another 3 trillion bucks of federal spending to stimulate the economy. Who cares that some of the most prominent economists in America hail this so-called “stimulus package” as a bad idea. Who cares that despite the rays of hope and change Obama is radiating from Washington, the DJIA is on a steady downward spiral. Obama’s bringing change dammit! And you ingrates out there in flyover country better appreciate it.
“But Obama will bring the troops home.” I have heard this tired chestnut before. If Obama was planning on bringing the troops home he wouldn’t be arranging a surge of troop deployments in Afghanistan. That’s right folks, he’s planning a surge. Geez, I wonder who else planned a surge? Could it be that guy you affectionately compared to Hitler every chance you got.
During the 2008 campaign, Obama supporters referred to his opponent at McSame. This implied that John McCain’s policies would mirror that of the abysmal Bush administration. But it’s looking like Obama is the one who is the same as Bush…and perhaps a bit worse.
This so-called “stimulus package” is over 1000 pages long, it’s pricier than any spending bill ever proposed, and I’d bet a week’s pay that no a single person who voted for it has even read it in its entirety. It’s not unlike the Patriot Act in that way. The stimulus package is a payoff, pure and simple. Certain persons and organizations went to bat for President Obama and Congressional Democrats during the election to help ensure their victory. Now it’s time for these elected jackasses to pay the proverbial piper and cough up trillions of tax dollars to pay for the election. Hope and change was a smokescreen for four more years of corruption, waste, and recession.
So I have to ask any of you Obama supporters out there reading this: Do you feel like a schmuck yet?
